The production of juvenile fish takes place in our hatchery station in seawater under strict controls of infiltration and disinfection.

From the moment we acquire the eggs until they reach 1 gr. of body weight, the fish will need about 4 months of cultivation.

The station consists of the following sections:

  • Brood
These are special tanks growing parentage (or "mothers") where they produce their eggs.
  • Live Feeds
In this section a delicate chain process takes place leading to production of live food, necessary nutrition for the larvae.
    • Production of Phytoplancton
With the assistance of artificial photosynthesis Phytoplancton is produced.
    • Production of Zooplancton
Zooplancton (or "rotifer") develops consuming Phytoplancton produced in the previous process.
    • Artemia
Artemia is grown here, a sort of microscopic shrimp (Brine shrimp) is the food for the early stages of larvae.
  • Hatching
Here the juvenile is evolving over the course of 2 months where it acquires the form of small fish.
  • Pre-fattening
The last stage before transferring to fattening farms, the juvenile has now fully acquired the form of fish and begins a gradual transition onto a systematic diet.
